Volunteer

Would you like to help a child child learn this summer? We are looking for people like you that are interested in tutoring or helping a student as part of our Summer Volunteer Opportunities.

  • Read with a student for one hour during the Reading Rocks Summer Program. Reading sessions are held on Mondays and Wednesday starting June 24, 2013  through July 24, 2013 at four different times in two different locations in Arlington.

OR

  • Help a student with Basic Math Skills during Math Camp. Math Camp is held Monday through Thursday from 9:30am to 11:30am. beginning on July 29, 2013 through August 8, 2013.
All volunteers will:
  • Attend a training session (no experience is necessary!)
  • Agree to a background check
  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Enjoy working with students
  • Help students in grades 3-8 with homework, math, and/or reading
Volunteer Training:
  • Reading Rocks Volunteer Training will be held on Monday, June 17 from 3pm – 5pm at Good Shephered UMC, 2020 S Collins, Arlington, 76010. Reserve your spot by calling 817-860-7757.
  • Math Camp Volunteer Training will be held on Monday, July 22 from 9:30am – 11:30am at Good Shepherd UMC, 2020 S Collins, Arlington, 76010. Reserve your spot by calling 817-860-7757.

If you’re unable to volunteer this summer, After-School Tutoring opportunities will begin on September 24, 2013. We accept Volunteer Applications year-round by fax at 817-303-5343 or email to coordinator.hope@sbcglobal.net.
