Summer Programs

Registration information is now available for all H.O.P.E. Tutoring Summer Programs, including a new Science/Math Partnership!

Registration Dates for 2013 Summer Programs:

  • Monday, June 10 from 12pm-2pm
  • Tuesday, June 11 from 2:30pm-6:30pm
  • Wednesday, June 12 from 12pm-2pm
  • Thursday, June 13 from 2:30pm to 6:30pm

All registration takes place at Good Shepherd UMC located at 2020 S Collins, Arlington, TX, 76010.

Program Requirements:

Reading Rocks:  A summer reading-maintenance program for students who were in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 in the previous school year.

  • Program begins on June 24, 2013  and ends on  July 24, 2013.
  • Classes are held on Monday and Wednesday only.
  • Parents must bring end of the year report card for each child.
  • Program is held at four different times at two different locations.

Math Camp:  A program designed to teach basic math facts to students who were in grades 3, 4, or 5 in the previous school year.

  • Only 20 spots are available!
  • Program begins on July 29, 2013 and ends on August 8, 2013.
  • Parents must bring end of the year report card for each child.
  • Classes are held Monday through Thursday from 9:30am to 11:30am.
  • Program is held at Good Shepherd UMC.

Computer Camp: A program designed to teach basics about computers and give the the opportunity to take home a computer for students who were in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 in the previous school year.

  • Only 20 spots are available! Students who have attended Computer Camp before cannot register.
  • Parents must bring end of the year report card for each child.
  • Program begins on July 15, 2013 and ends on July 19, 2013.
  • Classes are held Monday through Friday from 10am to 2pm.
  • Classes are located at St. Matthew Catholic Church.

Science/Math Partners: This new summer program is a partnership with the University of Texas at Arlington where students are able to experience fun, hands-on scientific activities using mathematical strategies and apply the skills of observing, hypothesizing, inquiring and problem solving. Open to students who were in grades 6, 7, 0r 8 in the previous school year.

  • Parents must bring end of the year report card for each child.
  • Program begins on July 29, 2013 and ends on August 9, 2013.
  • Classes are held Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 3pm.
  • Classes are held at UTA. Transportation is provided.
